What a beautiful weekend, a bit windy, but still beautiful. Today is a perfect day! I have gotten most of my reports yesterday and today from Adam. He and Noah were on the oceanfront down the refuge yesterday and Noah hooked into a 12-14 lb. bluefish. I got this from Noah:
Apparently this Bluefish was pretty hungry because it still took my bait even with all these in it’s stomach! … Noah.
Adam was back again today and hit the top of the tide to the turn of high tide along the beach down the refuge. He hooked into a few bluefish in the 7-9 pound range and some schoolie stripers in the 22-24″ range. He used chunk bait, worms and a SP Minnow to catch all his fish today with. Kenny one of the buggy guys that is down also caught a nice sized bluefish this morning.
Ed Kelly just in before headed onto the beach. They did well with small fish on worms this weekend. That seemed to be the way the weekend went…. small fish. Martha was out in the boat yesterday in the Plum Island Sound area and saw small fish being taken in the river.
So, I guess we have some blues around. So come walk the beach!
