Joppa Flats has been producing fish. In between times where the bass are just finning the surface and uninterested in any offering, there have been falling tides where the fish turn on about 1.5 hours after high tide, and they stay lit up for a few hours. Yesterday morning the flats seemed empty until later in the tide, where one of our guys started tugging in the better part of a dozen fish using red Tube and Worm rigs. Top fish was 34″ and a nice meal to be had. The mouth in the morning was pretty quiet, especially after a few days of surface feeds. We saw a number of folks going out for mackerel, and some of those trips returned fish. Liveliners and chunkers in the river seemed to have some success too, as we saw a number of schoolies being landed around dusk.
