Joe G. sent us this nice catch and releas photo and report from Joppa Flats: “I fished Joppa flats for the first time a couple weekends ago and had a great morning on the water. We headed out at first light and had some good schoolie action on the tube and worm and top water. At about 6:15 (an hour before the high tide) I was reeling my white soft plastic in rather quickly to move to a different spot and about 3 feet in front of me a sizable fish exploded on the surface and immediately started taking line. After a great fight up and down the flats I finally landed my personal best striper at 37″ and 18 lbs. I can’t wait to get back up there!”
Cathy’s back! She finally got her fish. Cathy Cutler from Danvers fished yesterday late morning/early afternoon in the river for the lowtide and was rewarded with this 10-12 pounder that is going to taste yummy. Her bait of choice: WORMS, always!
At the shop we haven’t had a busy morning with fishermen heading out, but Ken Page was one of them that did get out of bed early to be here for the sunrise and top of the incoming tide from the surf along the oceanfront. At about 6:00 am he was rewarded with this 15-12 pounder. Bait of choice: WORMS! Ken also caught another at 29″ that is still swimming in the great blue ocean.
