Well the sheets of rain that came yesterday kept most of you away, but we
had a few people go out and try their luck. Before the day was a total loss,
Justin Roussell Jr. from Lowell caught this 15-9 pounder
from the surf in the morning using clams.
Then the rains came and made fishing fairly difficult…..especially since there was a bit of thunder and lightning that came with it. Then, just before closing Matt Adams from Nashua NH came in with this 26-4 pounder that he caught on clams from the shore in the river. He caught his fish mid way through the outgoing tide. He didn’t see many other striper caught, but the skates were everywhere.
So…………..where is “Skate Slayer”? Think his talents are
needed to thin the population out. Our very own Pied Piper! The other
interesting thing about this fish is that he had a couple of puncture holes
on him. You can see them on his belly on the lower half. We are figuring
that he had a run in with a seal. Must have been a hungry one to go after
this fish! Or…he got tangled in something?? Anybody have any other
Last week we got these reports of 2 Great Days on Joppa with Anton P aboard Intensity with Captain Steve Bischof. Looks like a pretty good pair of trips.
Here’s a photograph of young George L with his first keeper, also from Steve Bischof.
