April 21, Waiting for the fish

April 21, Waiting for the fish

This weekend saw the anglers working themselves into a lather. The primary action was on the Party Boats, with a hit or miss situation. On Friday the Captain’s Charters had a tough day, but Saturday and Sunday they got a good supply of cod and haddock. The Challenger had a great haddock day on Friday, but we have no report from the weekend. There was also a report of haddock (possibly a cod) just off the jetty from a boat.

There is a supposed sighting of herring at the Lawrence Dam, which usually means the stripers will follow. There are holdover stripers in Boston. Kay says the stripers arrive the same time as the apple blossoms. Basically when the ocean gets to about 50 degrees.

The shop is open every weekday from 9 to 4, and weekends 7-5. Come on in, say hello, and get your gear ready for the season. Here’s a pic to wet your appetite.

Welcome to the blogosphere. Starting to see bait under the Charlestown Bridge in Boston, time to get out my gear.
