April 28, Lots of Noise

April 28, Lots of Noise

Well the multi-species arrival is here. We’ve got reports of Shad, Stripers, and Trout. Here are the details so far:

.

Shad are being taken i good numbers at the regular hotspot, the Rocks Village Bridge. Seems the top of the outgoing tide is the best time to grab some. You can look at our Shad primer from previous posts to figure out a rig for you.

.

I was at West Marine last night and the staff reported that one of their regular customers has been catching schoolie stripers in Seabrook harbor. Most likely spot is near the Fisherman’s Co-op.

.

Finally, the guys at First Light Anglers, who sponsored the release of brown trout into the Mill river last week, have been catching some of them back. I don’t think they are legal keepers, though I don’t know for sure. You can read the article about the stocking here.

.

Here’s a photo of the stocking from Ben Lang of the Newburyport Daily News.
