17 Aug AUGUST 17 – STEVE’S REPORT & VIDEO
Some people are lucky, some people are good. I’ll take being lucky over good any day of the week. I’ve been sitting on these photos and video for a few weeks now. Back in the last week of July I was fortunate to hook and land a new personal best in the wee hours of the morning fishing a live eel. Unfortunately I did not get an exact weight or measurement, as my boga only goes to 30lbs and I was more concerned with getting a couple quick pictures & getting the fish back in the water as soon as possible, but i’m guessing she was easily over 40lbs. This cow was a complete surprise, the fishing had been slow that particular night and the few nights before it. Overall the fishing for the past few weeks has been very slow and very spotty. I’ve had a few decent nights here and there, but for the most part it’s been a lot of work for not a lot of fish. I’m certainly not finding fish on every trip. If you are having a hard time finding fish this time of year you are not the only one, it’s been tough out there. Get out at night, bring some eels and cover as much ground as you can and maybe you will get lucky too…..
Big thank you to Vedo and Gabe for helping with pictures & video!!
