05 Aug August 5, conflicting reports
As usual, some guys do great, some get skunked. The mouth has been dead for the last few days according to a reputable source who usually can scratch up a fish just about anywhere. And depending on who you ask, the fishing around Joppa and Woodbridge has either been a skunkfest or really, really good. The preferred methods seem to be casting live eels, sluggos, and the ever reliable tube and worm. Your author finally scored a few keepers last night on eels, one casted, one trolled, but we’ve heard reports of some big fish being taken. Of course I haven’t seen any of them, and weigh-ins have been slim.
I did meet Bluefish from the NEKF site and he has reported a mess of fish. Here’s a pic of one. He was tube and worming and scoring fish quite regularly. This one was put back to fight another day, but he did grab one for the dinner table too.

Posted at 10:24h, 07 AugustNot too bad on the north end of the island, but the usual bite fest in the reservation. Skin So Soft seems to work. They’ll still land, but jump right off again.
