August 20, All quiet on the riverfront

Judging from the reports on the river and from the beach last night, it was very slow. We saw a couple of medium sized fish taken on the outgoing tide last night, but no one was cheering. The fish were not making themselves known, with only a few swirls around. Eels didn’t seem to make them hungry. The local tuna population seems to be on vacation as well. Maybe the full-moon tides this weekend will wake them up.
