02 Oct Changing Hours All Around –
October is here and so still are the bass. The weekend was slow (until last night) as far as keeper size were concerned, but our very own Stickman got some last night. He will be posting a story & pictures tomorrow, but he did well! I will let him tell his story tomorrow. But for now I will give a short report on the fishing. We had some big blues show up down on the PRWR. We weighed in a 14 pounder this weekend, however the picture came out to dark to post, sorry. We had a few guys get into them over the weekend around parking lot 3. Other than that there were a lot of small schoolies taken at numerous places on the beach and the river mouths.
October also brings a change of hours for both us and the Parker River Wildlife Refuge. With sunrise occurring later and sunset occurring earlier the gate times at the PRWR are changing. I was notified today that they are follows:
Gate opening at 0530 in the am
Gate closing at 1845 in the pm.
Plan accordingly if you like to fish the night tide on the PRWR. Either come down with a headache or a bug (a fishing bug!!!) and leave work early to get here!
Surfland also decreases it hours a bit now too. These are as follows also.
Sunday – Thursday 6 am – 7 pm
Friday & Saturday 6 am – 8 pm
