Introducing Plum Island Surfcasting Guide Service!

bizcard

Hi Everyone!

I’m happy to introduce Plum Island Surfcasting Guide Service this season!  Based out of Plum Island, I will be focusing on this area as well as areas in Ipswich such as Cranes and Pavillion. Given the fact that I fish nearly 7 days a week during the season, I hope to be dialed into where, when and what the fish are feeding on. This guide service will cater to surfcasters looking to fish with artificals lures from the shore (as well as the occasional live eel!).

My goal with this service is to provide a learning experience for customer’s, introducing them to new areas and techniques. I will cater to beginner surfcasters as well as more experienced fisherman looking expand their local knowledge. Rod and reel rentals will be available at Surfland Bait and Tackle, but anglers with their own setups are encouraged to bring them as well. I will also be purchasing some extra waders for customers to use.

Additionally, I have a Go-Pro camera with a headstrap mount customers can use to document their experience. I will be happy to edit down customer’s footage and email it directly to them, that way they will have a lasting memory of their trip. I will also supply digital photo’s of our outing and provide customer’s with a link to the online album.

Although I do have a “real” job 40 hours a week, I will be offering evening excursions Monday through Friday (as I am usually back on the island and fishing by 5 most afternoons), but will be available for any time slot during the weekends. These outings will be primarily dawn and dusk oriented charters as well as special night excursions. But during the spring and fall runs, the fishing may be excellent at any time, so I will adjust accordingly. If the fishing leading up to an upcoming charter is not looking promising, I may suggest re-scheduling. I will be spending all of my off time scouting for potential customer’s, so my goal is to be keyed in on the fishing and know when the bite is on or off.

Make no mistake, we will be working hard to catch quality fish. This means we will be potentially be walking multiple miles across sand, wading in adverse conditions and navigating rocky boulder fields in the surf (potentially at night).  So if your looking to stick a hunk of clam on a hook and put it in a sand spike, this is not the guide service for you…

I’m still working out the final details, but let me know if you have any questions. May is just around the corner, contact me  for rates and to book your trip!

    Hey Bill,

Sounds like your well on your way to becoming a hopelessly obsessed fisherman just like myself…

I would love to hook up at some point this season and do some fishing. Have you ever fished around Cranes or Pavillion in Ipswich? It’s a great fishery that is often overlooked by those fishing PI. I think you would enjoy these spots too, lots of moving and finding the fish.

Hit me up at some point once the fishing starts and I’ll let you know whats going on…

    Steve,
I’m not sure I’m up for walking miles in waders. Can you design a productive trip for us seniors who still get out regularly but want to make it a bit less strenuous?
    Also, what are your rates?
    Thanks

Hey Steve, these sounds like its right up my alley man. I live on the North Shore and have pretty much zero experience fishing a beach aside from spiking a rod into sand. I want to focus on catching quality fish from the surf this year and Plum Island sounds like the place to be. Would love an opportunity to be guided across he beaches, until then its all trial and error. Let me know man, would love to catch some monsters in the night time surf.

    Steve,

Can you let me know more about rates and durations? Also, how big a group can you accommodate? I’m interested in a trip with 4-6 people of varying levels of experience. Most know how to cast and have caught fish. I’ve got years of experience. Mostly, I’d like to lower the odds of getting them into some fish!

    thanks,
    Rick
