01 Jun June 1 – Steve’s report & video
Well it’s been more of the same this past week in terms of fishing, spotty. For the most part we still have mainly small fish (18-24″) around but more and more “keeper” sized fish are mixing in. There have been some bigger fish weighed in at the shop but I suspect that real push of “big” fish has yet to occur. Hopefully within the next week or two. The Southwest wind we had for the majority of last week blew a lot of the warmer water further out to sea, which has probably accounted for some of the on and off again fishing over the last week. Lets hope that we settle into a more favorable pattern after this rain moves out and the big girls start to move in. We have the infamous “June Moon” coming up this week, which marked the return of big stripers (for me at least) last year, so lets keep our fingers crossed for a repeat this year…….
Here’s this week’s video….filmed the week of May 25-31st….
(all topwater action, if you watch closely you can see a lot of the strikes….)

Steve
Posted at 20:57h, 02 JuneYes Brian fishes this area quite a bit too. I was born, raised and still live in the town where this video was shot, so I consider them my “stomping grounds” as well……

Posted at 18:08h, 03 JuneSteve,
It means a lot to me that you are not burning too many spots with your fantastic videos. I appreciate how you respect the time and effort put forth by those of us who fish these waters hard.
As you gain in reputation and surfcasting knowledge I hope you continue to live by the Surfcaster’s code of conduct. Have a prosperous and safe season out there.

Posted at 15:23h, 06 JuneThink its funny how man seems to claim certain things that can not be claimed, but rather should be just simply a part of. Like the favorite parking spot at the deli, or the “spot” on the beach. If a strange man or tourist type individual was in this so called spot one day and you fine gentlemen happen to be there as well. would you ask this stranger to move? As this is your spot. Can we actually claim water or sand or the slot machine at the casino that’s been paying out all night..lol. Ohhh just some thoughts from an ole man..
