15 May May 15 Last NIght’s Action

Just before closing last night we had a very excited “out of breath” angler arrive at the store. Local resident K.C. Lee from Newburyport came in with this long sleek beuty that he caught on the oceanfront. K.C. says that he walked the beach, oceanside, casting a swimming lure and hooked into this 32-3 pounder (45 inches) in the middle of catching 10-16 INCH schoolies. He saw other fishermen further down the beach catching fish also. Most looked to be schoolie size as far as he could see. He also said the birds were working the surface. This fish was caught during the top of the incoming tide.

Other action from yesterday had some fish in the river during the low tide. Mike Winn from Woburn got his 9-9 pounder from the surf in the Merrimac River using worms.
