MAY 22 REPORT

MAY 22 REPORT

The past few days have been a mix of reports from fishermen who have been all over Plum Island and beyond. Here are a few of the lucky ones…..

Monday 5/21

Nick sent us this picture on FB….Great day today. Second cast! 29 inches. Released. Caught on clam belly.

Sunday 5/20

John hit the river this morning with Paul. We caught a bunch of nice schoolies! I caught and released this nice 28 1/2 inch fish. Caught most of the fish right before low tide. Tell Martha thanks for showing me how to rig up a jig, but we caught everything on the old standby…sea worms!

Sunday 5/20

John and Buck were fishing in an undisclosed area but sent us this picture and report.

Just made keeper by 1/2″. Hold over. Didn’t weigh in at 8  lbs. Fins all beat up and a brownish yellow but turning white silver again.

Other reports have been that some smaller fish have now moved into the area. Some of the people have been having luck with the bucktail jig and the soft plastics. and now clams and worms are also coming in to play. But guess what……you have to get your toes wet to catch a fish!
