Some Catches

Kris Honkala from Newburyport caught these two first this am along the oceanfront at high tide. Right at the top of the tide. He caught these two 30″ & 31″ fish using a Sluggo.

The American Shad are in the Memmerimack River! We are planning a fishing trip to target these “poor man’s” salmon. They are a lot of fun to catch on light tackle!

Maine Fishing Trip
The Plum Island Surfcasters have a unique opportunity to fish the Maine surf with Ron McKey, owner of Striper Maine-iac. This is a guided trip and space is limited. The cost is only $25.00 per member and $5.00 for gas. RVSP ASAP. First come, first serve.

Where: The Junction of Route 95 and 110 in Salisbury, MA to drive up to Saco Bait and Tackle in Saco, ME.

Mackerel

SJ Fisher Posted on our Forum about some mackerel:

I chummed up my first batch of mackerel last Saturday. I used quite a bit of chum but it was worth the effort! I live lined them in the river & caught my first 2 “keeper sized” stripers (released) of the year! Plus several others from 24″s to 27 3/4’s long. (See the post and join our forum here)
