Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend

What a weekend we have had so far. Have weighed in quite a few fish, nice fish, and have heard of many catch and release fish, Both day and night the fish seem to be very active……………………..and hungry. A lot of the fish have big bellies, mostly full of tinker mackerel. They are gorging themselves. You will see in some of the pictures what we are talking about.

The fish have been caught on the outgoing tide, the incoming tide, and everwhere in between. The mouth of the river and the oceanfront have been hot! If you head out we still reccomend hitting the river for the last of the outgoing tide through the low and then trying the oceanfront on the top of the incoming through the turn of the tide. But,  that rule doesn’t always hold. Bryan from Vermont showed up Friday, waited unti about midnight, hit the beachfront with some eels and hooked into a 23 pounder of his first cast. Fish fry in Vermont this week!

They have been caught on worms, clams, eels,  herring, mackerel, leadheaded jigs, Sluggo’s, RonZ’s, and other soft baits.

And today is only Sunday…………………………………………………the holiday weekend is not over!
