Plum Island Surfcasters Meeting: Shad Fishing

Club Meeting: March 20, 2018: American Shad Fishing in the Merrimack River presented by Eric Roach

Please join us for a discussion of fishing the exciting spring-run of American Shad in the Merrimack River. The focus of the presentation will be on fishing the lower Merrimack, from Essex Dam in Lawrence to the mouth of the river. Topics will include specific locations to fish; times to fish; rod/reel/line choices; lures to use; presentation, techniques, and other important shad-fishing nuances. Come learn about this incredible world-class fishery, right here in eastern Massachusetts.

The presenter is Eric Roach, who has 18 years of experience fishing for spring-run shad. A regular at Rocks Village, he has spent countless hours unlocking the secrets of the lower Merrimack. He loves to share his knowledge with other shad anglers and will surely offer you something to help improve your success this spring.

Please join us on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 for another great angling seminar. Our monthly meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at PITA Hall on Plum Island (8 Plum Island Turnpike, Newbury, MA.) The doors open at 7:00 PM. Dinner is served at prices that will not break the bank. 🙂 The club meeting starts at 7:30 PM. After the meeting, we have a seminar by a featured angler. Seminars are free for club members; there is a $5.00 charge for non-members. Membership information is available here.

Sorry I missed it. Can I get a digital copy of “American Shad Fishing in the Merrimack River”? I saw it when I visited this weekend. I lost it and I need to follow the directions.
