Project: Dredge Oct. 16th

Project: Dredge Oct. 16th

Well it is the day after the “storm”.  The wind is still blowing and it is a bit “nippy” outside but it is a beautiful day!  Clear, clear, clear. If you can put up with the wind and the cold the views are stunning from the beach and our surrounding area.

Went down with Billy this am to take some pictures to see if any damage was done. Hard to tell. There was a slight drop off near the waters edge but it was high tide. There will probably be more of a slope at low tide. I will try to go up then and capture that.  Like I said the other day, this wasn’t by no means what we(the locals) consider a Nor’Easter. Time will tell…………………………….

This picture shows the south side of the center. No sand was dumped there. Would of been nice to have  this side taken care of. So I think the south side is the one to watch this winter. Again, time will tell……………………….

Back to the center………………………………………………

This is one of the reasons that Autumn is my favorite season……………………………… Moon snails. Aren’t they beautiful? I don’t know why they seem to be around the most in the Fall, but I love to walk the beach and collect them. This little guy was still alive, so I rescued him from the hovering seagulls (mine, mine, mine………….for those of you who have seen Finding Nemo) and threw him back into the sea, hopefully to dig himself into the sand and survive the gulls at low tide.

Look at these “hooligans” I found loitering up the beach…………………….. Fishermen beware!!!!
