This is great news — thanks to all who made this happening. I would like quibble with the idea that this is a “gift.” This is public space. Closing it during the shutdown was a political gesture not an economic issue. The arbitrary nature of the gates opening and closing times is not in keeping with the encouragement of respectful use and enjoyment of property belonging to all of us.
I totally agree with pkw1689. Also as a reminder to all who read this posting, keep a sharp eye on the Refuge web site during the off season. The CCP is supposedly in the planning stage and there may be news on the future of off road fishing on PRW. I am sure this Surfland web site will be watching and will post any info.
