24 Sep September 24 – Nice weather and plenty of little fish
We had a report of many, many small bass upriver yesterday. Seemed like the little ones were chasing the summer’s stock of baitfish, who by now, are up to 6″ long. The fish seemed to be settled by the Yacht club moorings.
Also, late last week I got a report from Peter D. who wrote, “Lot 3 was jumping last night. Caught 13 stripers from 18-22 range, no keepers but for a 9 year old that didn’t matter.
There was only me and my son and 3 other people as far as the eye could see. We fished from 4pm until 7:15 and the hits were steady on bloods.
They weren’t digging the clams!! Get it, “digging the clams? sorry!!
Hopefully the action continues but some bigger fish get involved…No bluefish at all.
Also, we were casting into very shallow water..even saw some fish rolling in breaking surf.
