25 Apr Shad are officially here. Eric says so.
Eric Roach, our resident expert on Alosa sapidissima (American Shad) has reported his first one of the season yesterday about 5pm at the Rocks Village Bridge.
Speaking of the Rocks Village area, remember the upcoming volunteer cleanup this Saturday!
Hello everyone. We are hoping you could join us again this year for the 17th annual Rocks Village Cleanup. Coffee, donuts, bags & gloves will be provided. The tide will be right for American shad fishing that morning, so the plan is to meet early, knock out the cleanup (usually takes less than an hour), and do some shad fishing on the dropping tide — so be sure to bring your rods.
We will meet at Ferry Park in West Newbury. There is plenty of parking along the street.
If you have any questions, please email Eric Roach at eroach1970@gmail.com.
Hope to see you there!
