15 May Sunday, May 15th “Fish on the oceanfront”
Well finally the oceanfront was fishable today after a week of “wild” seas. Rick and Nancy Brown were here from Hopkinton MA, and Ed Kelly and sons Andy and Tommy (The Flounder Pounder) from Rindge NH showed up to try their luck with worms on the beachfront. They all came to fish the top off the incoming tide to the start of the outgoing tide. High tide was at 10:00am so they basically fished from about 8am until noon.
All of them arrived with their catch at the same time. But being an honest group, Ed, having caught the first keeper, was first on the board with his fish weighing in at 9 lbs,12 ounces. Next was Andy with his fish weighing in at 8 lbs,8 ounces. And last but not least was the “queen of the day”, Nancy with her fish that weighed in at 10 lbs, 10 ounces. Poor Tommy Boy got skunked today, but wait until the flounder show up. Tommy and his flounder bait rigs (available at Surfland) will rule the oceanfront once the flounder arrive. But we need some sunny days for that…………and the sun is not expected this week 🙁
The group says that between all of them there were about 9 fish caught and of those 9, 5 were “keeper” sized. Also noted, that Ricky Brown also caught a keeper, but I guess he was a bit camera shy today. One highlight of the morning was Rick’s tastey appetizer he had. Must of been at a slow moment when Rick decided he wanted to know why stripers loved worms so much, so he had a taste for himself!!! He said it was a bit “bitter”. Wish we had a video of that!
NEXT TIME TOMMY…………………………
BTW, WHERE IS “SKATE SLAYER”?
