The Nor’Easter…………….still here!

The Nor’Easter…………….still here!

Even though the weekend was just plain snotty we did have a few brave souls fishing the river. The oceanfront was unfishable due to the “Nor’Easter that has blown in and continues to hang around. So, if you can bare the weather, it just might prove worthy!

Here is Ralph Upchurch with his 15 pounder caught on clams in the river.

Ashley Rennie, part of the Rennie clan that we have fishing the island. Ashley caught her two fish on clams at dead low in the river June 2. They weighed in at 12-8 and 11-8. Ashley and her dad went out the next day also and Ashley caught and released another nice stripper.

Friday before the really rough stuff kicked in, John Fichera caught this 22-8 pounder out of his boat in the river at high tide using mackerel

And, tonight on my way home through town, I saw two fishermen wading out at the seawall. Wow….. dedication!

Rough was right!! Drifted from the warm water discharge all the way to Breaking Rocks bouy in an hour, but catching macs the whole way. Turned back north to head to the HR and it took almost 30 minutes from BR to river mouth with waves crashing the bow the entire way. We were rewarded for our efforts though with a 35″ bass on our first drift. Got 8 before we had enough and headed back to the barn by noon. Great first day back on the water!
