Wednesday, May 11th Report

The fish are definitely here! Got a text from Andy Kelly last night with a couple of pictures.  Andy, Maddy, and Ed have fished the last few nights along the oceanfront.  Early evening  they ran into a range of fish.  Andy got a keeper sized striper and then small stuff. All were caught on bucktails. Other reports into Kay have been that the fish have been hitting early am also along the oceanfront. Parking lot 1 on the refugee has been productive as well as the oceanfront from the jetties south along the beach. Low tide at the river has produced fish, with a few up to 30″. Ed also caught a good size shad on the oceanfront. And we also had another fisherman report that he caught a shad while fishing for stripers along the oceanfront. Worms have been productive for one of the guys right out front of the shop.

The boat guys have reported fish in the mouth of the Parker River all the way to the inside of the river. “Every where I went I caught fish” the fisherman told us. He was using soft baits, sandeel imitation stuff works well in these areas.

Up river we are still getting reports of shad and small stripers being taken at Rock’s Village as well as North Andover . Up by the dam in Lawrence they are catching a lot of small bass with a few in the mid 20″ to 30″ range.
